This summer I attended an Internal Communications networking group in Chester, organised by an ex-colleague of mine. Although my work is no longer purely focused on employee communications, I have spent a number of years working in this area and still like to get involved and share best practice whenever I can.
Amongst the many interesting people I met on the day, a lady called Gemma McCall stood out. She was so passionate about communications and engagement that she'd set up a northern movement to share ideas and best practice in internal communications and employee engagement. She was on the lookout for guest bloggers so, of course, I put my hand up and offered my services.
